    Hello, we are the Highlands County Genealogical Society, HCGS, your new host, and Welcome to Highlands County. I hope you enjoy your visit here today. We were formed from part of Desoto County and we then became a part of the Tri-County area. The Tri-County area includes Highlands, Glades and Hardee County which were all prior to 1921 part of Desoto County.
