McRae (sometimes spelled McRea, McCray, etc.)  John McRae and wife Catherine settled in Putnam in 1850, then counted in Marion in 1860 census. John died June 16, 1860. Children:  Angus, Nancy, John, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Jane (maybe Sarah Jane). Catherine, was married in Marion county by 1860.  Who did she marry? Looking for their burial sites.

I am looking for info on my family.  They settled by long Pond/Lake around 1823 I think.  My gggggrandfather was a Captain during the Seminole wars. His name was Captain John Tyner.  Some spelled it Tiner.  They moved here from Effingham County, Georgia. After the war they moved to Micanopy, something to do with the government. They then moved onto Williston. I can not find much on him here in Marion County except what is in our family book. I would enjoy any help you could give me in finding the location they lived or even what kind of stores or other families that were here at the time.  Thank you for your help in this. Cindy Wilkins
