"FLORIDA'S LITTLE GIANT" - FORMED IN  1887 FROM HERNANDO COUNTY

Hi...My name is Linda Flowers and I am your County Coordinator for Citrus County Genealogy and History with the FLGenWeb Project, Inc.. My roots run deep in Florida. My 3rd great grandparents obtained land under the Armed Occupation Act agreeing to fight the Indians for their land. Their first child was killed when the Indians attached their home while being held in its mothers arms. My great grandparents were married in Citrus County in 1899 and raised their family here. As you can see I have a vested interest in this county as well as Florida in general and will do my best to make this site a delight to visit. If you have any comments, suggestions or material you can donate, please contact me. You will be given full credit for anything submitted. I would like to thank Fran Smith our State Coordinator for giving me this opportunity. Thanks to Mike Flood as well...for allowing me to follow in his footsteps as Citrus County Coordinator. Thanks Mike!
