The people of GenWeb (FL, USA, World) have many special projects that may be of interest to our viewers. In most cases, databases are being created, and thus may give researchers some missing information.
In Florida GenWeb, the Special Projects include:
Cremains Project
Obituary Extraction Project
Post Card Project.
Also on the Special Project webpage are links to
Florida Projects of:
African American Griots
Census Images
Family Group Sheet
Genealogy Marriage
Gravestone Inscriptions Database
Marriage Database
Tombstone Transcription.
Also on the Special Project webpage are links to:
World GenWeb Project
US GenWeb
Project
US GenWeb Lineage Project.
Would you like to help? Want to join the FLGenWeb Project?
1. Share your old data, transcriptions or photographs. Send/take
them to either the
Florida County Coordinator for your county or to the FLGenWeb Digital Library and Archives.
2. Transcribe Florida documents that you have access to or contact the FLGenWeb Digital Library and Archives to transcribe documents on file there.
There are various FL and US GenWeb projects available for your time, talent, and knowledge. They are a nice way to preserve and pass on your genealogical research results.
Volunteering can take many forms. One way is to ask your local priest, minister, pastor, etc., if they need help answering genealogical requests for birth, marriage and death information. These requests get put on the "back burner" and are long delayed before being answered.
