Williams/Driggers/Best (30 Dec 2005): Jo Davis: I need information on Jessie Mae Williams born in Graceville, Jackson County Fla, 2-1879, give or take a year. Her parents were William Ashely Williams and Bobbie John Willie Sanders. In the 1900 Holmes County census, she is listed with her parents under the name Jessie Mae Driggers with daughter Vera Driggers born 12-1899.
By 1910 she is married to James Martin Best (son of William Best and Missouri). Their children that I know of are Vera (12-3-1899), Glen (11-6-1906), Lexie Mae (1-30-1910), James Wilmore (6-13-1911), Clarence (no date), Moses E. (2-19-1914), Martha Oville (10-10-1917). All except Vera were fathered by James Best.
Vera married an Ivey Sapp sometime before 1920 but he died within a year. Believe his parents were George B Sapp and Mary. He is supposed to be from Sampson, Ala. Need information on him also. Believe Jessie moved to Pensacola, Escambia County, sometime after 1910. Do not know where her children were born, if Holmes or what county. You can email me at the above address. Thanks.
