Sophia Palmer, age 82, of Chipley passed away Friday, Feb 12, 1999 at the Bay Medical Center in Panama City.  She had lived in Chipley since 1964, coming from Ft Walton Beach, Florida.  She was of the holiness faith and a member of the Southport Community Church.

	Funeral service was Feb 15 at the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, with the Rev Randall Jackson officiating.  Burial followed in the Antioch Church Cemetery in Hartford, Alabama with Brown Funeral Home directing.

	Survivors include her son Jerry Melvin of Chipley; brother Dudley Savage of Columbus, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
