Submitted by JoAnn Beagle via FAX Transcribed by Cathy Strickland Popp 16 Feb 1917: After an illness of a week with pneumonia, Mrs Anna Creel, wife of E P Creel, one of Bonifay's well known and leading citizens died at the family home here Monday morning at 4 o'clock. Mrs Creel's sickness of a brief duration, little over a week, and the news of her death came as a severe shock to many who had not learned of her illness. Everything, that could be done, was done by the family physician, Dr Gable, together with a trained nurse and faithful loved ones, could not give relief and she continued to grow worse until death relieved her sufferings. Deceased is 36 years of age. She was an amiable woman, sympathetic, a kind neighbor, a devoted mother and wife, a true friend, a withal a woman of heroic mould who bravely met stern requirements of life in caring for and ministering to those who were dependent upon her. The funeral was conducted from the home, Tuesday morning at 10:300 o'clock, Rev W F Moore, Pastor of the Baptist Church Officiating. Deceased is survived by Mrs Hollis, a husband, and seven children.
