Home of the Florida State Constitution
Gulf county was chartered in 1925 and covers approximately 578 square miles in the panhandle of Florida. It is often referred to as the "Home of the Florida Constitution". Delegates from all of Territorial Florida assembled in a constitutional convention in the City of St. Joseph, December 3, 1838, where the drafting and signing of Florida's first constitution occurred.
