| Trains became a way of moving people around Florida once they had arrived by boat. Many folks stopped in Jacksonville, others came down the St. Johns River to Palatka. As the state opened up more, train tracks sprang up as well. The state was dotted with small regional railroads as well as the big railroads traversing many counties from the Florida-Georgia border to the southernmost areas of the state. |
