He married Maria Dolores Hernandez, a Menorcan, in 1891.
Unfortunately, his parents died in England at a young age. Burt (as he was called) arrived in St. Augustine, Florida, from England in 1886 on the ship, The Grecian Monarch, when he was 16 years old.
He worked as a chemist and a bookkeeper. He died in 1944 in Jacksonville, Florida.
