J.J.Myer Building
in Arcadia,Desoto County,Fl.

Around 1912 my grandfather John Glenn Allred started the first telephone
company in Punta Gorda. My grandmother Ethel Myre Allred ( J.J.Myers daughter)
in Frostproff, N.side of Reedy Lake  and J.J.Myer building East Oak St. ( Arcadia )
was the operator. Prior to this they had worked for Mr.Scott who owned the telephone
company in Arcadia.
John Allred went on to install the power plants in most of the mine towns. My mother
was born in Brewster. They ended up in Bowling Green where he was the District Superviser
for the Flordia Public Service Co. ( Florida Power )
