Mertie Lillian Douglas - 21 November 1974

Mrs. Mertie Lillian Douglas, 79, of ElDorado Park, (died) at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Thursday.

She was born in Hillsborough County, and had been a resident of Desoto County for 63 years. She was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church.

She is survived by three sons: William F. Douglas Jr. of Arcadia, Daniel L. Douglas of Immokalee, James Garfield Douglas of Fort Myers; three daughters: Mrs. Eula Smith of Oakland California, Mrs. Frances M. Thompson of Tampa and Mrs. Lillian Shaw of Piedmont, Alabama; two brothers: Frank Jones of Palmdale and Jeff Jones of LaBelle; one sister: Mrs. Nellie Douglas of Fort Myers; 25 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
