Obituary of Virginia Lee "Jenny" Whidden Massey

  Mrs. Virginia Lee "Jenny" Whidden Massey died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1985 at the Americana Health Care Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Services were held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, Nov 15 at Hardage and Sons Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery on Main Street North, Jacksonville. 
  Mrs. Massey was born July 17, 1888 in what is now DeSoto County. She was the daughter of Jerry Alderman Whidden and Mary Melissa Beathea Whidden (both buried at Joshua Creek Cemetery). She was the granddaughter of James E. Whidden and Martha Jane Carlton Whidden who are also buried at Joshua Creek Cemetery. 
  She is survived by one adopted son, Jerry and his family of Jacksonville and locally by a niece, Hazel Whidden Scarborough (Mrs. W.J.) of Lake Placid, Florida. There are many distant relatives in the DeSoto County area. Other nieces and nephews are surviving through out Florida and other states of the United States.
