Obituary of Newton Isaiah Smith
Funeral services for Newton I Smith, 70, whose death occurred Tuesday night at his residence at 2017 Delaware Avenue, well be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday from the Church of God, with the pastor, the Rev. Culpepper, officating. Burial will be in the local cemetery, in charge of Yates Funeral home. A resident of Fort Pierce for the past 40 years, the deceased is survived by his wife, Annie Ella: six sons, Alfred, Curtis, and Newtsy, Fort Pierce, Hennan, Dyer, Tenn., Marvin Feaster, Miami, and Elihu, U.S. army, in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Clemmie Davis, Mrs. Mary D. Newton, Mrs. Ruth Tucker, Mrs. Loretta Smith, all of Fort Pierce; four brothers, W.H. Smith, Fort Pierce, Esom, Nocatee, Marvin, Arcadia, Robb, Largo. He was born in Desoto county, the son of William Henry Smith and Mary Stewart Smith. Contributed by Colleen Faircloth
