Winter Haven- Walter was born; May 8th., 1924 in Arcadia to George and Lillian Whitlock. Died,Sept. 8th.2010 -
  Walter was a vetran of the U.S.Army Air Corp. and served his country as a flight engineer during WWII, along with his siblings, he was one of the"Five Fighting Whitlock's" in the war from Arcadia. His service in the military required that he be granted a special dispensation due to his being blind in one eye. Walter earned several degrees from University's,and later worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the State of Florida for many years. Walter was a Gator fan. Over his lifetime Walter coined many phrases or sayings that became known as "Weymanisms" by his many friends. He is remembered by friends and family as a man with Integrity, honor, and humor. Walter is survived by his wife of 34 years, Annie Eppleman Whitlock, 1 daughter ; 1 son; grandchildren and great grandchildren and 3 sisters; and his beloved Jack Russell terrier"Gator" - Walter was preceded in death by; his siters Nina and Erma and brothers Aurin,Sam and Peck.
  A graveside service was held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia, Fl. on Sept. 12, 2010.
   Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
