"Lady Who Died at Wauchula Lived in Three Centuries"
The Evening Telegram
Lakeland, Florida
Page 7  ~  13 November 1911

Mrs. Lydia Ann Summeralls, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Allbritton, in Wauchula Saturday night and was buried at Fort Green Sunday, was probably the oldest person in South Florida. Just how old she was is not known definitely, but those nearest her estimate her age as being 115 years.

Old gray-haired men remember her as "Old Lydia Ann Summeralls" when they were small children. She was born in Georgia and came to South Florida sixty or more years ago and was well-known to all the old pioneer citizens. She leaves several children and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. (Ocala Star)

* Mr. Davidson also concludes that Mrs. Summeralls was a widow of an Indian War veteran and collected a pension for her husbands service in the war.
