Jess Thompson  was born February 6, 1915 in
Arcadia, Florida As a young man he moved to be with his brother, Gus, in Texas. He served in the Army and was stationed at Camp Blanding, Clay Co., Fla. While stationed there he married Muriel in the 1942. His final career was in law enforcement. He stayed in the Florida area and served with the Duval County Sheriff's Office for 20  years attaining the rank of Detective
Sergeant. He was a Mason for over fifty years and a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Jacksonville.. . Jess and Muriel raised their two children in Duval County. He was blessed with a long life filled with devotion to God, family and job. |
