The following census information for Desoto County, Florida was taken when the county was still in its original formation back in 1887. In 1921, the county was reformed to create five new counties which are Desoto, Highlands, Hardee, Charlotte, and Glades. The following precincts are a reflection of these five counties. The census information was transcribe from microfilm by Phyllis Borden and Janine Rickner.
