Collier County News -Daily News_ Thursday Jan.2, 1961 - Horace Allen Wright, 640 First Street North, died at Naples Community Hospital at 9 pm on Wednesday, January 1. Wright had been a resident of Naples for nearly 20 years and has a host of friends in the community. He came to Naples from Athens, Georgia. He was retired from business. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday Jan.3) at 11 o'clock at the Englehardt Funeral Home in Fort Myers. Wright is survived by his wife Mildred; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Clark,Tampa, and Mrs. M.C. Harvey of Madison, Tenn.; and a son, Horace Jr. of Immokalee.

Naples Daily News - July 5, 1974 - Jesse R. Wardell, 69, resident of 3072 Estey Ave., Naples, died Tuesday in Naples Community Hospital. He moved to Naples 11 years ago from Richmond, Indiana, and was a retired elementery school teacher. Survivors include one daighter, Mrs. Nancy Zewalk of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Fern Roesler of River Forest, Ill., Mrs. Vera Sharrock, Taylorville, Ill., and Mrs. Beulah Johnston of Decatur, Ill.; a brother Dwight Wardell of Florida. Memorial services Saturday at 1:30 at First Presbyterian Church, Naples, with Rev. John W. Stump officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Arthritis Foundation. Engelhardt Funeral Home, Fort Myers, is in charge of arrangements.

David A. Weeks, 45, of 4608 Normandy Dr., died Monday morning at Naples Community Hospital. He had been a lifelong resident of Collier County and was born on Marco Island.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vergie Weeks of Naples; a son, Daniel P. Weeks of Naples; one daughter, Miss Deborah Weeks also of Naples and a grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Aileen Weeks, also of Naples; a brother, Luther Weeks, Everglades City; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Goldie and Mrs. Geneva McDuffy, both of Naples, and Mrs. Vergie Dickerson of Everglades City.
Funeral services are pending at Naples Pittman Chapel, 850 Sixth Ave. N.

Funeral services for David A. Weeks, 46, of 4608 Normandy Drive, will be held Thursday at Pittman's Naples Chapel, 850 Sixth Ave. N. Mr. Weeks died Monday at Naples Community Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vergie Weeks of Naples; a daughter, Miss Deborah Weeks, and a son, Daniel P. Weeks both of Naples; a brother, Luther Weeks of Everglades City; three sisters, Mrs. Hugh (Ethel) Goldie of Naples; Mrs. Wiley (Vergie) Dickerson of Everglades City and Mrs. Geneva McDuffy of Naples; his mother, Mrs. Aileen Weeks of Naples, and a grandchild.
The Rev.O.F.Taylor of the Assembly of God Church of Naples will conduct the funeral service Thursday at 10 a.m. in Pittman's Naples Chapel. Burial will follow in Naples Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the Naples chapel from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Collier County News , Daily News - Friday, January 24, 1964 - Pg.3 - George (Ray) Wenner died Wednesday, January 22, in the Newton-Baker Government Hospital in Martinsburg, West, Va., at the age of 67. He, along with his wife, the late Edith Wenner, who passed away in in August 1962, made their home in Bonita Springs on Georgia Avenue for many years. He left here in March 1963 for the West Virginia Government Hospital. He is survived by two sons, Robert Wenner of Reva, Va., and Edward Wenner from New York. Funeral services will be held in West Virginia.

Collier County News, Daily News- Tuesday, February 4, 1964 - Funeral services for Buck Wilson, 29, who was found dead Sunday near Immokalee will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the church at the Big Cypress Indian Reservation. Arrangements are being made by the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Home. Wilson was a farm laborer in the Immokalee area. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doctor of Copeland, four brothers, Ben Wilson, Billie Wilson, Jimmy Wilson and Jack Wilson of copeland, and a sister, Susie Jimmy of Miami.

Collier County News,Daily News - Feb.12, 1964 - Mrs. Mabel M. Wenger, 66, died yesterday at her home, 1050 Eighth Ave. N. A resident of Naples for the past ten years, Mrs. Wenger moved here from Jonestown, Pa. Besides her husband, Aaron E. Wenger of Naples, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Anna Wenger, also of Naples. Private funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Harland D. Fague, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the Hodges chapel from 6 to 9 o'clock tonight.

Pittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry C. Parkham, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Naples officiating. Interment will be in Naples Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 O'Clock tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Wilson died Monday at Naples Community Hospital. A native of Michigan, she had lived in Naples the past 39 years, and resided with her husband W.R. (Bob) Wilson at 175 11th Ave., S. Besides her husband, she is survived by a brother, Maxwell Day, and her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Day, all of Naples. She was secretary- treasurer of W.R. Wilson Associates, and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Naples. Pallbearers will be Bruce Green, Carl Soll, James Logan, and Roy Miller.

Walker, 53, who died Saturday morning at his home at Corkscrew will be held at 3 O'Clock Wednesday afternoon at the Church of God in Immokalee with the Rev. F.E. Thomas, Rev. T.J. Wells, and the Rev. B.E. Chesser officiating. Interment will be in Fort Denaud Cemetery. Walker had been a resident of Corkscrew for the past 24 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annie Walker, two daughters, Miss. Shirley Walker, Mrs. Lois Rimes; a son, Novelle C. Walker, of Corkscrew; three brothers, Paul A. Walker of Hobe Sound, Clarence Walker and Vernon Walker of Moore Haven; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Powers of LaBelle, Mrs. Neva Hensley of Moore Haven, Mrs. Jewell Dupree of Clewiston, Mrs. Doris Hale of Rogers, Ohio; his mother, Mrs. Lydia Walker of LaBelle, and three grandchildren. He was a member of the Florida Cattlemen's Association and the Junior Sheriff's Boys Ranch Association. Pallbearers will be Earl Taylor, Delmar Rimes, R.M. Baily, Willis Flint, Joe Townsend and Frances Colding. Honorary pallbearers will include Willie Powers, Bob Byrd, Sydney Burnett, Nelson Hugh, F.E. Starnes, Allen Crowley, Sam Heath, Clyde Bishop, Dice Roberts, Charlie Walker, Ewell Moore, Mabry Skipper, Jack Spratt, Harry Flint, and J.R. Luckey.  Arrangements are being handled by the Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home in Fort Myers.

Collier County News, Daily News - May 12, 1964 - Mrs. Doris Mae Wood, 37, wife of Robert W. Wood, Naples building contractor, died unexpectedly last night at Naples Community Hospital. She had been a resident of Naples for the past 10 years, moving here from Joliet, Ill., and made her home with her family at 623 Coral Drive. She was a member of the Naples Senior High, Junior High, and Lake Parl Parent Teacher Associations and the Naples Yacht Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Penny, Susan and Sally, and two sons, Robert Jr. and William, all at home; a brother, John Thomas Segerberg; a sister, Mrs. Lois Johnson, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Segerberg, all of Joliet, Ill. Rev. Richard Lambert, Rector of Trinity-By-The-Cove Episcopal Church, will conduct a funeral service at 11 O'Clock tomorrow morning in the chapel of the Richard A. Pittman Funeral Home. Further services and interment will be in Joliet. There will be a visitation from 7 to 9 tonight at the Pittman Funeral Home.

Collier County News, Daily News- Aug.9, 1964 - Walker - Air Force Capt. Floyd F. Walker, 42, was killed Tuesday in an Alaskan helicopter crash. Walker was a native of Collier County and attended school here before joining the Air Force.  He is survived by his wife, Betty Smith Walker;  daughters Sara Mae and Mary Louise, and two sons, William and Floyd Walker Jr. of Alaska. Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Minnie Walker of Miami; three brothers, J. Alton of Fort Lauderdale, Sigsbe F. and Edward Ray Walker of Miami; grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Yeomans of Fort Myers; Uncles, Roscoe and Forest Walker of Naples; aunts, Jessie Kirkland and Aliene Weeks of Naples, Mrs. Gussie McDowell of fort Myers, Mrs. Ruth Brice of San Bernadino, Calif., and Mrs. Jean Johnson of San Bernadino. The body will be returned to Fort Myers and arrangements will be announced by the Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Alberta Fay McClenon; seven sons; James R. Walker, Thermon J. Walker, Robert A. Walker, Verna lee Walker, Robert R. Walker, Donald Walker, all of Naples, and Jackson L. Walker of Stuart, Fla.; 38 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Pittmans East Naples Chapel, 3080 East Trail, with the Rev. Kenneth Luff, Pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Naples Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Pittmans East Naples Chapel

Collier County News, Daily News- Oct.29, 1964 - Wauters - Raymond Frank Wauters, 51, dockmaster at Naples Yacht Club, died suddenly yesterday morning at his home in the Bay View Inn. A native of Kewanee, Ill., Wauters had lived in Naples for the past two years. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Susan Wauters of Lake Geneva, Wisc.; two sons, Bruce Winters, serving with the U.s. Navy on Guam, Bill Wauters of Milwaukee,Wisc. and Ray of Oklahoma City, Okla., and a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Cooper of Clinton, Wisc. Funeral arrangements will be announced later, according to the Richard A. Pittman Funeral Home.

Collier County News, Daily News- Dec. 30, 1964 - Mrs. Rose Wood, 86, a winter visitor to Naples for the past 10 years, died last night in Naples Community Hospital. She made her home at Vanderbilt Drive and 97th Ave, Naples Park. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Laura Appell of Naples, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services and interment will be in Succasunna, N.J. Local arrangemments are being made through the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel.

Neutie Tullie Weeks, 61, of Mango Avenue, Goodland, Fla., died Monday in Naples.
She was born in Fort Ogden, Fla., and had lived in Goodland for 40 years. During the 40 years, she was involved in commercial fishing with her husband, Buddy, in Goodland and Caxambas.
She is survived by her husband, Buddy Alvin Weeks of Goodland; three sons, Johnnie J. Weeks of Naples, Billie A.Weeks of Naples and Barney Neese of Lexington, S.C.; one brother, Russell McIver of Fort Ogden,Fla.;three sisters, Mrs.Bessie Bell, Mrs. Daisy Johnson and Cora, all of Bradenton; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a. m. at the Goodland Baptist Church with Rev. William H. Smitty officiating. Friends may call at the Preston Funeral Home, 4424 E. Tamiami Trail, today from noon to 4 p. m. and 6 to 8 p. m. The body will lie in state at the church from 9 a. m. until service time Wednesday.

Buddy A. Weeks, 72, of Naples, died Saturday, November 12, 1988. Mr. Weeks had been a lifelong resident of Collier County. He was a retired commercial fisherman. Preceding him in death was his wife, Neutie Weeks; and a son, Billie A. Weeks.
Surving are two sons, Johnnie Weeks of Naples and Barney Neece of Lexington, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Jeter of Hollywood, Fla.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 14th at 10: 00 a.m. in Naples Memorial Gardens with Brother Charles Gee, officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday (tonight) at the David K. Johnson Funeral Home, 4424 East Tamiami Trail.

A resident of Naples For 17 years, he was a veteran of World War 11 and the Korean War, and was a retired Marine operator. Mr. Whitney was also a member of the Elks Club in Naples. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Whitney of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Gail Mallard and Jan and Pam Whitney, all of this city, and one grandchild. He was a member of the Moorings Presbyterian church, the Olive Branch Lodge 542 F&AM of Dearborn, Mich., and the Naples Music Club. He is survived by his wife Florence of Naples; three sons, Erik E. Jr. of Lansing, Mich., Douglas L. of Greenwood, Ind., and Davis S. of Mobile, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. William Hicks of Farmington, Mich., and seven grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel where funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm with Rev. David C. Moss and Rev. Jack Kern officiating. He was a retired commercial fisherman and had been a Collier County resident for the past 45 years. He is survived by his wife Emma Jean of Goodland, and a step-son Earl Cameron of Fort Myers. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Pittman's Naples chapel, 850 sixth Ave.N. with the Rev. Marshall Boroughs of the East Naples Baptist church officiating.

Naples Daily News - Nov.21, 1974 - Ralph E. Wilson, 67, of 453 Second Ave. S. died Wednesday. He had been a resident of Naples for the past 22 years, coming from Mechanicsburg, Pa. He was a former realtor and at the time of his death, was associated with the West Coast Detective Agency. He is survived by his wife, Grazia Wilson of Naples; two daughters, Janel Wilson of Bonita Springs and Grazia Kate Wilson of San Francisco, Calif. Memorial services will be conducted this evening at 8  from the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel with the Very Rev. Richard T. Lambert of Trinity-By-The-Cove Episcopal Church officiating. Cremation will follow. The family requests no flowers.
