Parker
Naples Daily News - April 9, 1973
Lee Parker Sr., 67, Route 1, Box 1508, Parker's Hammock, died Sunday afternoon.
He had been an area resident since 1925 and moved here from Arcadia. He was a member and former trustee of the First United Methodist Church of Naples, a member of Cypress Lodge No. 295, F&AM, Egypyt Temple of Tampa, and Scottish Rites Valley of Fort Myers.
He was an organizer and manager of the local American Legion baseball team and a former member of the Boy Scout Council.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Parker; a son, William L. Parker Jr.of Naples, a daughter, Mrs. Josephine P. O'Bannon of Fort Myers; three brothers, George F. parker of San Antonio, Tex., Lewis Emack Parker of Immokalee and Donnie Parker of Fort Myers; a sister, Mrs. Laura Raulerson of Inglis, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James R. Crook of the First United Methodist Church and the Rev. Walter Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today, where Cypress Lodge No. 295, F&AM, will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bemury Storter, Carson Sawyer, John Tuttle, Jimmy Stewart, Hooker Brown and Chuck Whidden.

Platt
Naples Daily News, Naples, Florida - Monday, June 2, 1975
Allene Platt, 62, of 2960 Gordon Street, died Saturday in Naples.
She was born in Estero and had lived in Naples all her life. Survived by her husband, George H. Platt, of Naples; three daughters, Mrs. William Waddell, Mrs. Lavonia Burton, and Mrs. William Sherwood, all of Naples; five sons, Russell G., Norman L., G. H., Benny M., Earl L., all of Naples; two brothers, Ervin Morrissey of Immokalee, Shelly Morrissey of Naples; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hancock of Naples; Mrs. Winnie Jerimia, of Fort Myers; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Preston Funeral Home, 4424 East Tamiami Trail, with the Rev. Merle Fennell of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Naples Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from noon until 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Perkins
Naples Daily News - Dec.28, 1972 - Bonita Springs - Herbert Spencer Perkins, 61, of Riverdale Lane, died Wednesday at the Lee Memorial Hospital in fort Myers.  He was a retired owner of a landscaping business in Madison, Conn. Survivors include his wife Irene Perkins of Bonita Springs; a son, the Rev. John Perkins of Edinburg, Tex.; a step daughter, Mrs. Joanne Jacobs of Clinton, Conn., and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Champion of Deep River, Conn., plus several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel.

Naples Daily News - Jan.31, 1973 - Bonita Springs - Elva M. Prestidge, 68, of Angler's Paradise Park, died Tuesday at Naples Community Hospital. She had been a resident of Bonita Springs for the last 11 years, coming from Sturgis, Mich. She is survived by her husband Ralph and one son Roy, both of Bonita Springs; two brothers, two sisters; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services and burial will be in Sturgis with the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel in charge of local arrangements.

Naples Daily News - Feb.5, 1973 - Augusta Caroline Pearce, of 744 96th Ave, N. died Saturday at Naples Community Hospital. She had lived in Naples for 15 years, coming from Michigan City, Ind. She was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband John H. P Pearce of Naples; her mother, Mrs. Helen Michaels, Naples; one daughter, Mrs. William ( Carla) Hendry of Fort Myers and two grandchildren. Scripture services were at 7 pm Sunday at the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel with Father Michael Sullivan of the St. Ann Catholic Church officiating. Funeral services and burial will be in Michigan City, Ind., with Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel, 3520 North Trail, in charge of local arrangements.

Poletti
Naples Daily News - March 1, 1974 - Jean E. Poletti - Mrs. Jean E. Paletti, 69, a former U.S. Commisioner for UNICEF and wife of a former New York Governor, died at her home on Marco Island Wednesday after being hospitalized for a long illness.  Mrs. Poletti, wife of Charles Poletti, who served as governor for several months in 1942, had been a resident of Marco Island since 1966. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was a resident of New York City for 40 years before coming here. She was credited with organizing the United Nations  " Trick-Or-Treat-Drive" for the organization's Children's Relief Agency, UNICEF. Mrs. Poletti is survived by her husband; a son, Dr. Charles Ellis Poletti of Boston; two daughters, Carla Knox Tidmarsh of Geneva, Switzerland, and Joanna Shattuck Poletti of Boston, and two grandchildren. The family announced there would be no funeral services held here and that burial would be in Elizabethtown, N.Y. this summer.

Naples Daily News - April 22, 1974 - George L. Paver, 60, of St. Petersburg Beach, died Saturday in Naples. He was a real Estate Broker and is survived by his wife Gertrude. Funeral services and burial will be in St. Petersburg. Pittman's Naples Chapel, 850 Sixth Ave.N. is in charge of local arrangements.

Naples Daily News - June 4, 1974 - Grace L. Pow, 91, of 213 Ninth Ave., S. died this morning. She had been a local resident for the past 27 years, coming from Wayland, Ky. she was a long time costituent of the First United Methodist Church of Naples, and a member of the Union Church of Berea, Ky.  She is survived by a son, George Pow of Cleveland, Ohio. and two daughters, Mrs. Annabel  Spurlock of Port Au-Prince, Haiti, and Mrs. Katherine Kepp of Naples, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services and burial will be in Berea. The Ear G. Hodges Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.

Roth
Collier County News,  Daily News- Sept.10, 1964 - Funeral services for John William Roth, 67, custodian of the First Presbyterian Church, will be held at 2 O'Clock Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John W. Stump, pastor, in charge. Roth died suddenly while at work at the church Wednesday morning. He was a retired contractor, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, who moved here about two years ago. He made his home at 865 Ninth Street, South. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Naples, where he had served as custodian for several years, and of the Plasterer's and Mason's Union No.7 of Miami. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lynn Roth of Naples; two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Christ of Miami, and Mrs. Arlene Harbart of West Virginia; two brothers, Alfred of Cleveland, Ohio, and Peter of Opalocka; two sisters, Mrs. Hermen Weiss of Euclid, Ohio, and Mrs. Ray Musal of Cleveland, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Richard A. Pittman Funeral Home from 7 to 9 O'Clock Friday night. Friends who wish may make contributions to the Heart Fund in his memory.

Naples Daily News - Oct. 15, 1973 - Everglades City - Howard C. Rhodes, 61, of Gateway Trailer Park died Sunday in Naples Community Hospital. He had been a resident here for the past nine years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Rhodes of Everglades City. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pittman's Naples Chapel 850 6th Ave. N.

Naples Daily News -- Oct. 26, 1972--Howard W. Rush, 57, of 1110 11th Street, N. died Tuesday evening at his residence. He was a supervisor with the United Telephone company, a veteran of World War 11 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bristol, Va. He is survived by one son, William of Naples; a daughter Mrs. Fannie Bell Simcox of Britsol, Va., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lou Rush of Naples, and Mrs. Francis Cunningham and Mrs. Margaret Wilkerson, bot of Arlington, Va.  Friends may call at the Earl G. Hodges Funeral Chapel Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev.Marshall Boroughs will officiate at the funeral service at 10 A.m. Saturday at the East Naples Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Naples Memorial Gardens.

Naples Daily News - Dec.26, 1972 - Euleda S. Ritter - Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday for Euleda S. Ritter. Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Larry G. Smellie officiating. Entombment will be in Naples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call at Pittman's Funeral Chapel today from 7-9 pm.
