John Adams Home

Pictured here is the new home in 1894 of John Q-Adams and wife, Mary
Rebecca McMullen Adams, The home was located on the west shore of Lake Wire
( currently being filled with roads and intersections )
Featured on the porch are: in the chair,Edna Adams age 2 yrs. Standing is Harry McMullen
( Mary's brother age 7 yrs.)
Mary had to raise Harry after the death of their mother when Harry was an infant.
Also on the porch are John and Mary along with Bessie Adams age 4 yrs.
John Quincy Adams drove a mule train down from Spartanburg,S.C. in about 1882 or so.

Pictured below is another view of the home of John Adam's,that was raised shortly after
the death of Mary RebeccaAdams in Nov.of 1960, by the law firm that bought the property to build
 their building which today stands in runins near the new roadway around
Lake Wire.

John Quincy Adams owned a Livery Stable located on Pine [ Main ] Street
pictured below year 1910

John Adams owned several other buildings in the area as well as the
ADAM'S building on Kentucky and Pine Street,
just north of the railroad tracks where
a Crispers now stands.
The building is now only 2 stories because of
a fire in the 1920's
