Louis William Boston retired Bartow Police Department B: Nov.5, 1930 in Metter, Ga. D: April 24, 2006 at Lake Wales Medical Center Louis Boston came to the area at an early age. He moved to Lake Wales 20 years ago. Mr. Boston had been with the Bartow Police Department for 30 years, with a law enforcement career of 33 years, He was a detective in the 1970's. Mr. Boston was a retired Captain of the Bartow Police Department in 1996. He was a member of the Deputy Sherrif's Association, he was a Marine Corps Veteran. Louis was a member of the PBA, Imperial # 25 and American Legion of Lake Wales. He was a member of Mount Gilboa Baptist Church in Bartow. Survivors include his wife of 14 years; 2 sons; 2 daughters; 1 sister; 1 brother; 4 stepchildren. 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation; at Mount Zion Progrssive Baptist Church, 12 B St.,Lake Wales and services on Sat. at the church. Epps Mortuary, Lake Wales. ( Lakeland Ledger, April 26, 2006-pg.B-4 )
