N. Sutton, Pioneer resident of Polk Co.,, died at his home 4 miles west
of Lakeland at 6 in the morning of May 31, 1933 at the age of 69, (
born about- 1864, in Florida ) Mr. Sutton had been ill for several months and the end was expected by the family members. The funeral was held at 5 the same afternoon from Mount Enon Baptist Church and burial to follow in the cemetery there. The Rev, Frank Wiggins, Plant City, conducted the services. Smith and Dukes, Lakelad morticians, were in charge of arrangements. Charles was a native of West Florida and came to Polk County in 1869, he was a farmer and grove owner. Charles moved quietly in the community, his honesty was known to al men and his caracter upright and his example worthy of emulation. He was a member of the Primative Baptist Church. Survivng him are his widow and 6 children; Rev. B.S.Sutton and C.M. Sutton, both of Lakeland; John B. Sutton, Tampa; Mrs. R.R.Rushing, of Kathleen,, and Mrs. C.T.Coleman and Mrs. T.C. Harris both of Lakeland. |
