
| Pattie Riggins Darracott Funeral services for Mrs. Pattie
Riggins Darracott age 93, a pioneer of Lakeland resident who died in
Leesburg Wednesday. Will be held at the graveside in Lakeview Cemetery
in Lakeland, Thursday at 4p.m. with the Rev. David Horton officiating.
The Veyers Funeral Home, Leesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

| Mrs.
Fannie Mae Riggins was born in Montgomery County, Tennessee, Nov. 8th.,
1835. She was christened, Fannie Jane Cherry and married on April 20,
1854, to Mann Patterson Riggins. The couple had 3 children, Wallace Stanley, Norman Alpheus and Lila Patterson Riggins, 2 of whom, Wallace and Lila died in childhood. Norman and his family live in Lakeland. The family moved to Padueah, Ky. at the close of the Civil War, Mr. Mann Riggins conducted a mercantile business until 1876 when the family moved to Stoddard County, Missouri. In the winters of 1882-1883, the Riggins family came to Bartow due to the poor state of health of Fannie, Mr. Riggins was so charmed by the country that he bought property in the section of Polk Co. which later became the town of Lakeland, and planted a grove which is now ( in 1923) known as the subdivision, Orange Park, on Lake Morton Drive. Fannie has been connected with the uplifting movements in the town during her entire residence here and has been a faithful and consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church from the date of its organization. She has been loved and honored and will be missed by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Being one of the earliest settlers of Lakeland area, Mrs. Fannie Riggins was know by many as " Grandma Riggins" The services were held Sunday afternoon at 4:00 from the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment in Roselawn ( Note: plot is actually found in Lakeview Cemetery across the street from Roselawn) ------------------------------------------------- Deaths-Mrs. Fannie Jane Riggins- Passed away last night (Saturday, March 3, 1923), at Morrell Memorial Hospital ( now Lakeland Regional ), after an illness of a few days. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:00 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, corner of S.Fl. Ave and Lemon St. ( Note: this church actually site at S.Fl.Ave and Mosswood Road ) The body will lie in state from 3-4 at the church, as the casket will not be open after the service. Mrs. Riggins was the mother of N.A.Riggins and one of the oldest citizens of Lakeland and the family have the sympathy of the entire community. |

| Margaret Frances Riggins "Miss Fannie" Funeral services for Miss
Fannie Riggins will be held Tuesday morning in the Sanctuary of the
First Methodist Church. The Rev. Duane R.Zoller, associate Pastor and
the Rev. Charles R.Bruce,Pastor of Riverview Methodist Church, Ormond
Beach,Fl. will officiate. Mr. D.H. Sloan,Jr., Mr.Dwight Goleman, Mr.
Richard Ehlis, Mr. Robert Fordyce, Mr.Eugene J.Smith, and Mr. Edward
Lane will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Lakeview
Cemetery. Those who prefer, may make donations to the Methodist
Children's Home in Enterprise, Fl. or to the Rose Keller Branch of the
Childrens Home Society of Fl. Friends may call at Heath Funeral Chapel
this evening from 7-9 p.m.
