Edmund Anderson, died at age 93, at his home at, 1215 S.
Lincoln
Ave.. John was a pioneer settler of Polk County and a retired farmer
and
cattleman. John was the son of the late John Anderson and Cornelia McRae Anderson. Survivors include his widow; Mrs. Ocie Anderson; 6 sons, J. Earl, William D., Shannon R., all of Lakeland, Chesley L., of Bartow, W. Boyd of Brewster and Hubert M. of Mulberry; 4 daughters; Mrs. Marie Anderson Layton and Miss Louise Anderson of Lakeland, Mrs. Richard M. McLaulin of Bartow and Mrs. Morris L. Durrance of Brewster; 3 sisters, Mrs. Molly Altman of Tampa, Mrs. Annie Sturgis of Fort Meade and Mrs. Peter Stone of Fort Meade; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Services were held from the chapel of A. M. Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry. Burial was in Oak Hill Burial Park. Pallbearers will be, John R. Anderson, Hubert M. Anderson, Richard E. Anderson, James D. Anderson, Harold Wilson and Billy Ray Ford, all grandsons of Mr. Anderson. Honorary pallberears will be Johnny Hutchinson, Willie Hutchinson, Roy Hutchinson, Leslie Durrance, Dennis Taylor, J. T. Bellamy, Borden Pearce, O. C. Smith, Jasper Smith, Marvin Albritton , J. H. Lakeland, widow of late John Anderson, died Friday at her home
following a long illness. She was a native of Polk County and a member
of one of the oldest pioneer families in Polk County.
Survivors include five
sons,
William D., Shannon R. and W. Boyd Anderson, all of Lakeland, Chelsey
L. Anderson of Bartow and Hubert M. Anderson, Medulla; four
daughters,
Marie Layton Craft and Louise Anderson of Lakeland, Mabel A. Durrance,
Medulla and Mrs. R.M. McLaulin, Hernando; 21 grandchildren and 31 great
grandchildren.
