Walter Higginson
 Walter Higginson, 84 of Zephyrhills, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Sunbelt Healthcare Center of Zephyrhills. He was born September 9, 1921 in Brunswick, Georgia, the son of Joseph and Laura Belle Miller Higginson and grandson of Mark and Emily Higginson. He came to the Higginson Family Homestead, Zephyrhills as an infant and where he lived all his life except for him serving in the US Navy. His mother passed away when he was a child and was raised by his father and his stepmother, Ruth Corliss Higginson.

 Walter served as a Seabee in the US Navy during World War II. He was a member, an officer and Sunday School Superintendent Emeritus of the First United Methodist Church, Zephyrhills. He retired from Zephyrhills Water, having worked as a poultry farmer, welder in ship yards, typewriter repairman, Ford Motor Company Parts Manager, a US Mail carrier and drove school buses. He attended St. Leo Preparatory and USF in education science. He was a 4-H leader.

 Walter is survived by two sisters, Ruth Eikeland of Tampa and Dorothy Frazer of Tampa; many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many cousins and many dear friends.

 Walter is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Higginson.

 Funeral services were held  Monday, July 31, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ford officiating.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow at Oakside Cemetery, Zephyrhills.
