An often overlooked resource is church records. Especially way back when many people did not read or write. The priest or minister kept a record of important dates such as baptism, birth, church membership, marirage, death. Sometimes this is the only record researchers can find. As our society becomes more mobile it is harder to keep up with moves between the census years. Any additional place to search should not be forgotten.
